Exports of Moldovan agricultural products to the European Union have increased almost sixfold in the past four years, according to government spokesperson Daniel Voda.
Grapes are among the products with the strongest growth. "Grape exports are at the top of the growth list, from US$12.6 million to US$45.14 million in just three years. An increase that shows that Moldovan farmers grow quality grapes appreciated in the European area," said Daniel Voda.
At the same time, the spokesperson noted that the value of Moldovan goods exports has risen by almost 50 per cent in recent years. "In the last four years, as recently pointed out by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the value of exports of goods Moldova has increased by almost 50 per cent, the value of exported services has doubled and the direction towards EU accession has provided a clear chance and predictability for national economic growth and development, including through the creation of new jobs in the national economy," Voda added.
The European Union is Moldova's largest trading partner and remains the main export market for Moldovan products.
In July 2025, the European Union announced an expansion of access for Moldovan products to the EU market. Under the decision, tariff quotas for plums, apples, table grapes, and sweet cherries will be increased. At the same time, imports of grape juice, tomatoes, and garlic from Moldova are now fully liberalised.
