La Grande Bellezza Italiana and Ermes Fruit

Fresh ideas and partnerships for table grapes

Ideas are born from relationships, and constructive ideas bring projects to life. This is what the Italian business network La Grande Bellezza Italiana (LGBI) has pursued for the past seven years. It was founded in 2018. Recently, LGBI has developed projects for pears and table grapes.

"In just a few months, we formed a new collaboration with an important Apulian company specializing in table grapes," explains Leonardo Odorizzi, spokesperson for the business network LGBI. "This company is Ermes Fruit, owned by the Suglia brothers. This collaboration is the result of Ermes's many years of experience in domestic and overseas markets, and its goal is to provide timely, customized services to the large-scale distribution sector. We've developed a new packaging solution that offers the best of both worlds: The paper bag, which is a cost-effective alternative to the plastic basket. This approach ensures the product's freshness and convenience, which consumers really appreciate."

The Ermes brand is known for its high-quality products, which are backed by the LGBI network. The brand also uses paper bag packaging. These factors provide a favorable remuneration.

Other projects
Last spring, researchers also tested pears. At present, La Grande Bellezza Italiana is launching a project with Williams pears. The quality and presentation of the product are enhanced by the cardboard tray that holds it. The tray effectively conveys this quality to the consumer. The pear sector in Italy is in dire straits, but we can only get back on track by believing in it. To believe in it means establishing relationships, amassing resources, conceptualizing ideas, and initiating projects, as we are currently doing," points out Odorizzi.

The business network has also invested in peaches and nectarines under the trademarked name Verona Peach PGI. "This project seemed impossible just three years ago," says Odorizzi, "but we formed a Protection Consortium with 16 members in just a few months after establishing it in November 2024."
