In Uzbekistan, a significant growth in watermelon exports was reported in 2025.
In the first eight months of 2025, the Fergana region exported 16,000 tonnes of watermelons, generating over $3.5 million in revenue, according to the regional administration. Compared to the same period in 2024, when 6,589 tonnes worth $1.6 million were exported, this represents a 2.2-fold increase.
More than 60 local entrepreneurs shipped watermelons in 815 batches to the UAE, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. Russia and Kyrgyzstan accounted for around 20% of total exports.
Notably, the export geography has expanded: For the first time, Fergana watermelons are now being shipped to Poland.
