According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan produced 369,300 tons of melons and watermelons between January and June 2025. This is an 8.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Production was distributed among different types of producers:
- Commercial farms (larger-scale farmers): 123,500 tons;
- Household plots and small family farms (known locally as dehkan farms): 235,700 tons;
- Agricultural enterprises and organizations: 10,100 tons.
Alongside rising production, exports also showed positive dynamics. In the first half of 2025, Uzbekistan exported 130,600 tons of watermelons worth $29.9 million, up by 52,700 tons compared to last year.
The main export destinations were:
- Russia: 66,000 tons;
- Kazakhstan: 44,000 tons;
- Kyrgyzstan: 19,000 tons;
- Belarus: 968 tons;
- Mongolia: 618 tons;
- Latvia: 76 tons;
- Georgia: 66 tons;
- Poland: 61 tons;
- Other countries: 121 tons.
In the same period, grape production also showed growth. Uzbekistan harvested 56,300 tons of grapes, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year.
By type of producer, grape output was as follows:
- Commercial farms: 31,000 tons;
- Household plots and small family farms: 24,400 tons;
- Agricultural enterprises and organizations: 900 tons.
