In the Kyiv region, Ukraine, a farming enterprise has developed a unique direction alongside traditional crop production: a plant cloning laboratory. According to owner Yuriy Allazarov, the facility can produce up to 400,000 plants annually.
Using microclonal propagation technology, the time required to obtain a seedling is reduced from three years to just three months. This innovation significantly accelerates the supply of planting material for commercial orchards and plantations.
Since its launch, the laboratory has primarily focused on blueberry seedlings, though it has also worked with walnut, paulownia, and other fruit crops. Allazarov notes that almost every blueberry plantation in the region traces its origins back to this lab.
Currently, the laboratory operates on a contract basis, producing plants tailored to customer demand.
