Azerbaijan’s cherry exports drop by 35% in volume

From January to July 2025, Azerbaijan exported 16,740 tonnes of cherries valued at USD 20.81 million, according to the State Statistics Committee. Compared to the same period in 2024, export volume decreased by 35% and value by 16%.

Main export destinations:

  • Russia:16,624 t / USD 20.66 m (–35% by volume, –25% by value)
  • Kazakhstan: 76.8 t / USD 62,000 (–51%, –58%)
  • Belarus: 5.13 t / USD 29,700 (–72%, +58%)
  • Bulgaria: 13.76 t / USD 28,210 (new market)
  • UAE: 3.77 t / USD 21,300 (–82%, –69%)

During the same period, Azerbaijan imported 257.32 tonnes of cherries worth USD 288,840, which is 2.8 times more by volume and twice as much by value compared to 2024.

Main import origins:

  • Iran: 107.88 t / USD 145,640 (x3)
  • Russia: 148.66 t / USD 136,620 (no imports last year)
  • Chile: 0.42 t / USD 3,400 (–45%, –44%)
  • China: 0.24 t / USD 1,930 (new supply after 12.5 years)
  • Argentina: 0.05 t / USD 0,920 (–58%, –8%)
  • USA: 0.01 t / USD 300 (resumed after 7.5 years)
