Wholesale fruit and vegetable prices - Week 35:

Blackberry prices up 45% while Victoria plums are down 25%

The average price of blackberries rose notably this week. Prices increased from a previous week's average of £6.35 per kilogram to £9.23 per kilogram. This marks a rise of £2.88, equivalent to a 45% increase week-on-week.

In contrast, red currants saw a decrease in average prices. Last week's average of £10.80 per kilogram has fallen to £9.00 per kilogram. The reduction of £1.80 reflects a 17% weekly decline in prices.

Victoria plums also recorded lower prices compared to the previous week. The average this week was £1.70 per kilogram, down from £2.26 per kilogram the week before. This represents a decrease of £0.56 per kilogram, or 25%.

Meanwhile, raspberries experienced a price increase. The average rose from £10.22 per kilogram in the previous week to £11.67 per kilogram this week. This amounts to a gain of £1.45, equal to a 14% increase.
