Kazakhstan boosts apple exports, while domestic prices continue to rise

From January to July 2025, Kazakhstan exported 7,400 tons of apples, nearly double the amount exported in the same period last year, according to LS reports.

Russia accounted for almost all purchases, 7,200 tons (+3.4 times). Exports to Tajikistan also grew 1.5 times, reaching 23.6 tons. At the same time, shipments to Uzbekistan fell to 175.2 tons (–7.7 times), and to Belarus, to 1.5 tons (–24 times).

Imports dropped 1.5 times to 68,900 tons. Kazakhstan reduced purchases from Poland (33,600 tons, –1.5 times), China (13,600 tons, –11.5%), Iran (9,600 tons, –2.2 times), and Uzbekistan (6,900 tons, –2.2 times). Meanwhile, supplies from South Africa increased by 26.2%, from Georgia tripled, and from France, surged 78 times. The Netherlands and Belgium appeared among suppliers, though in small volumes.

Domestically, the average apple price rose by 19.7% year-over-year to 843 tenge per kilogram (€1.32). Prices vary by region: from 819 tenge (€1.29) in Almaty to 1,000 tenge (€1.57) in Pavlodar.
