In the first half of 2025, Andalusia exported €5.052 billion [5.981 billion USD] worth of fruit and vegetables, a record since 1995 and an increase of 11.6% in one year, above the national average (+9.5%). The region now accounts for 41% of Spanish exports in this sector (€12.286 billion [14.544 billion USD]), well ahead of the Valencian Community (24.4%) and Murcia (17.3%). The sector accounts for 55% of Andalusian agri-food exports, generating a trade surplus of €4.225 billion [5.002 billion USD].
Peppers dominate (€745m [882 million USD], +20.8%), followed by strawberries (€657m [778 million USD], +8.9%), blueberry-type soft fruit (€500m [592 million USD], +24.9%, the strongest growth in the Top 10), tomatoes (€495m [586 million USD], +4.4%) and cucumbers (€465m [550 million USD], +22.1%). Then, there are raspberries (€305m [361 million USD], -1.4%), avocados (€243m [288 million USD], +16.3%), zucchinis (€238m [282 million USD], -0.6%), watermelons (€198m [234 million USD], +21.2%) and oranges (€112m [133 million USD], +11.3%).
Almeria remains the leader with €2.518 billion [2.981 billion USD] (+15.5%, 50% of the total), ahead of Huelva (€1.411 billion [1.670 billion USD], +12.7%) and Malaga (€311 million [368 million USD], +16.1%). Cordoba posted the biggest increase (+26.8%, €108m [128 million USD]), while Seville (-11%) and Jaen (-11%) went down.
Europe accounted for 99% of sales. Germany (€1.598 billion [1.892 billion USD], +11.1%) remains the leading customer, followed by France (€712 million [843 million USD], +11.4%) and the Netherlands (€587 million [695 million USD], +13.5%). The United Kingdom dropped slightly (-0.8%). However, Portugal (+26.1%), Austria (+26.9%), and, above all, Switzerland (+34%) are among the strongest performers. Outside the Top 10, a number of emerging markets recorded spectacular jumps, including Greece (+132%) and Bulgaria (+76%).
