Peruvian fruit exports increased by 19.2% during the first seven months of the year

Peruvian traditional and non-traditional agricultural exports from January to July this year reached $6.47 billion, a 19.9% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Association of Exporters' Research Center for Economics and Global Business (CIEN-ADEX). Traditional agricultural shipments totaled $531.1 million (+19.7%), representing an 8.2% share. Agro-industrial shipments (non-traditional) totaled $5.94 billion (+19.9%), making up 91.8% of all shipments.

In the agro-industry sector, fruits led with $3.29 billion (+19.2%), accounting for 55.3% of agro-industrial shipments and half of all agro-exports. Vegetables and other produce followed with $881.6 million (+9.8%). Fresh avocado has become the leading agricultural export, with shipments worth $1.07 billion (+6.4%), representing 32.8% of fruit exports, 18.1% of agro-industrial exports, and 16.7% of total agro-exports.

Performance in July
In July 2025 alone, agro-exports reached $1.20 billion, an 11.8% increase compared to the same month last year. Agro-industrial exports totaled $1.01 billion (+8.2%). Fruits stood out in this segment, with $511.4 million (+8.4%), followed by vegetables with $146.1 million (-1.1%). The trade union emphasized that the rise in fruit exports in July was partly due to the increase in cocoa bean shipments (+16.3%), driven by a higher volume (+26.6%).
