Uzbekistan has seen a sharp increase in imports of exotic fruits this year, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Between January and July 2025, the country imported 4,600 tons of pineapples worth $1.6 million, more than double the volume compared to the same period in 2024. The bulk of supplies came from China (4,500 tons), followed by Kazakhstan (92 tons), the Netherlands (16 tons), and Mexico (5 tons).
During the same period, date imports reached 12,600 tons worth $9 million, up by 4.9 thousand tons year-on-year. The leading supplier was Iran (9,800 tons), while smaller volumes arrived from Tunisia (810 tons), Turkey (396 tons), Saudi Arabia (245 tons), Kazakhstan (230 tons), Azerbaijan (224 tons), and the UAE (196 tons).
