Farmers in Kazakhstan have harvested more than 1.8 million tons of potatoes to date, according to Kazinform News Agency.
During a government meeting, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov said more than 700,000 tons of onions have also been gathered, with about 300,000 tons reserved by farmers for later sale.
He added that around 300,000 tons of carrots have been harvested, with about 100,000 tons held back in reserve.
