Intersnack Adria, part of Germany's Intersnack Group, has started construction of a new potato chips factory in Hercegovac, central Croatia. The company announced the laying of the foundation stone in a statement published on LinkedIn.

The project involves an investment of €25 million (US$30 million) for the enlargement and upgrade of its manufacturing facilities, according to local business news portal Tocka Na I. The new factory is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Once operational, it will double the company's annual production capacity to 10,000 tons and create between 50 and 100 new jobs.

The existing Intersnack Adria factory in Hercegovac has been operating since 1977 and remains the largest employer in the area. Intersnack Adria is the leading Croatian producer of salty snacks and one of the largest industrial potato buyers in the local market.
