Ukraine approves €2.3M in new food and fruit processing grants

The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine has approved 19 more applications under the state program "Grants for Processing Enterprises". After meeting co-financing conditions, the selected companies and entrepreneurs will receive UAH 99.2 million (€2.3M) to modernize or expand production capacities.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Ministry has supported 228 applications worth UAH 1.12 billion (€26M).

Among those supported are enterprises specializing in food production and fruit and vegetable preservation. Grants can be used for equipment purchase and installation, restoring facilities damaged by war, or R&D for new products.

The maximum grant is UAH 8M (€185,000) for development or UAH 16M (€370,000) for recovery (not exceeding verified damages). Co-financing terms vary: 50/50 standard, 70/30 for Ukrainian-made equipment, and 80/20 for businesses in frontline or de-occupied regions.

Recipients must create at least five jobs and pay taxes over three years equal to or greater than the grant amount. Companies that fully meet program conditions can reapply after three years.
