Belgian Polysense secures €2 million for potato AI expansion

Polysense, a Belgian start-up specialising in AI and hardware for the potato and bakery industries, has closed a €2 million investment round to support its expansion in Europe and the UK. The company applies artificial intelligence to help manufacturers improve process control. By linking computer-aided quality inspections with process parameters, defects and other errors can be detected quickly.

French fry supplier Agristo, Croky crisps manufacturer Roger & Roger, and Dutch processor Coroos are among the companies currently using Polysense technology. The new investment is expected to support further growth in both the UK and European markets.

Polysense CEO Yarne De Munck said: "With the use of synthetic data, we're creating a digital replica of customer products in no time. That is how we can generate data fast and efficiently, saving a lot of time and resources." Polysense was founded in 2022 by Yarne De Munck (CEO), Lucas Van Dijck (CTO), and Jarne Bogaert (COO).
