EU Good Food launches European kiwis and peaches in Korea

EU Good Food has launched European kiwis and canned peaches in Korea, marking the next phase of its engagement with the country's food sector. The products, sourced from the Mediterranean region, are intended for both household use and the food industry.

European kiwis are characterised by a mild tartness and active enzymes, making them suitable for both sweet and savoury dishes. They can be used in fruit salads, desserts, and as an ingredient in traditional dishes such as naengmyeon, where their acidity adds contrast to the broth's flavour profile.

European canned peaches have a soft texture and moderate sweetness. They can be incorporated into pancakes, tarts, or hotteok, and paired with coffee-based beverages such as iced Americano.

Both products are produced and processed in accordance with EU agricultural and food safety regulations, which include traceability from production to packaging. Producers follow cultivation practices intended to maintain soil health, limit synthetic inputs, and protect surrounding ecosystems.

Kiwis are harvested at full ripeness to maintain flavour and firmness during transport and storage. Peaches are picked at maturity and canned without unnecessary additives, with processing methods designed to preserve their juiciness and texture. Both fruits are natural sources of vitamin C, potassium, and dietary fibre.

The introduction of these products follows a series of EU Good Food activities in Korea, including participation in Seoul Food & Hotel, product tasting events, and meetings between EU suppliers and Korean buyers, chefs, and importers. The initiative has aimed to demonstrate how European produce can be used in Korean cuisine, whether in traditional dishes, fusion menus, or home cooking.
