More than 140 warehouse workers at Smith's Food and Drug, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kroger, have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike in Las Vegas. "Nationwide, the Teamsters represent thousands of workers at Kroger who are prepared to stand in solidarity with Local 14", said Tom Erickson, Director of the Teamsters Warehouse Division. "Management must bring a real contract offer to the table, or they will face the consequences".

Carrefour has acquired Argentinian regional chain Super A for an undisclosed sum. The stores will all become Carrefour Express stores before the end of this month. Holland: Organic food sales up slightly in the first half of 2025
The share of organic food sales in the first half of 2025 was 3.5% of total food spending in Dutch supermarkets (820mln euros). This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on the BioMarktMeter and the Sustainable Food Monitor, conducted in collaboration with Wageningen Social & Economic Research (WSER). Of all product groups, eggs account for the largest share of organic food sales. In the first half of 2025, this share was 17.3%. Coffee and tea are the second most popular organic foods at 6.5%, followed by potatoes, fruits and vegetables at 5.5%.
