A New York University study examining areas that restricted Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) families from making healthy food purchases online may have discovered a breakthrough. The research, which involved 59 participants with young children in New York's Bronx borough, could serve as a starting point. Four incentives were tested: free delivery only; dollar matching for fruits, vegetables, and legumes purchased, plus free delivery; weekly text messages with tips for online shopping, plus free delivery; and a meal plan with grocery list recommendations, plus free delivery.
