Charlecote Park in Warwickshire has put on display more than 700 handmade pumpkins, including a pumpkin carriage centerpiece. The display, made from knitted, crocheted, and felted vegetables, was created by volunteers and local community groups.
The National Trust site in Wellesbourne began replacing edible pumpkins and gourds with handmade versions three years ago to limit food waste and offer a reusable alternative for the season.
The current exhibition is open daily until 2 November, from 10:30 to 16:00. The main installation in the Victorian kitchen features about 500 handmade pumpkins, while additional items are placed throughout the property.
A pumpkin carriage, made from upcycled materials, forms the central feature of this year's display. Visitors also have the option to take home a handmade pumpkin in exchange for a donation, with proceeds directed toward conservation efforts at the site.
A National Trust spokesperson said the initiative provides a seasonal display while supporting sustainability goals and ongoing conservation work.
