According to Eurostat, the European Union imported chanterelles worth €5.4 million from Russia in July 2025, up 17% compared to the same month last year. This figure also represents an 8.7-fold increase compared to June.
Lithuania accounted for the largest share, purchasing €4.5 million worth of Russian chanterelles in July. Other EU buyers included Germany (€475,300), Slovenia (€238,900), Austria (€81,800), and Poland (€32,000).
Overall, Russia became the EU's second-largest chanterelle supplier in July, following Belarus, which shipped €7.7 million worth of mushrooms. Ukraine supplied €1.1 million, while smaller volumes came from Kyrgyzstan and China.
Separately, fresh chanterelles were also prepared for export from Russia to Serbia. In July, a 5-ton shipment from the Ivanovo region received the necessary phytosanitary certification. Another batch was cleared for export in September.
