Imported banana prices UK - Week 37:

Colombia banana prices up 2% as Costa Rica falls 2%

This week's banana price data shows mixed trends across key Latin American suppliers. Colombia recorded a slight increase, with the average price moving up from £0.99 per kilogram last week to £1.01 this week, a rise of £0.02 or 2%. This placed Colombian bananas among the few origins to see positive week-on-week movement.

By contrast, Costa Rica registered a small decline, with prices edging down from £1.00 to £0.98 per kilogram, equal to a £0.02 or 2% decrease. Guatemala showed a marginal gain, with the average price rising from £0.97 last week to £0.98 this week, up £0.01 or 1%. These shifts underline a varied pattern across producing countries, with Colombia and Guatemala showing minor upward adjustments while Costa Rica slipped back slightly.
