EU Bananas statistics - week 36:

Slovakia banana prices drop €54/100kg in one week

Banana wholesale prices showed mixed movements between week 35 (ending August 31, 2025) and week 36 (ending September 7, 2025) across selected European markets. Data provided in €/100kg highlights contrasting trends, with some countries recording increases while others faced sharp declines.

In Latvia, prices rose from €75 in week 35 to €87 in week 36, reflecting a firm upward adjustment. Hungary, however, recorded a slight decrease, moving from €134 to €131 over the same period. This marks a small but notable shift in pricing for the Central European market.

Poland also experienced a downturn in prices. Bananas dropped from €107 in week 35 to €100 in week 36. In Portugal, by contrast, wholesale prices remained stable, holding at €103 in both reporting weeks, showing no volatility in the short term.

Slovakia reported the most pronounced change. Prices declined sharply from €148 in week 35 to €94 in week 36, representing a substantial drop within a single week. This steep fall underscores the price variability seen in some European banana markets during the early September trading period.
