Australia promotes bananas at Ekka and Moree events

The Hort Innovation team has been present at several community events to promote Australian bananas and their role in an active lifestyle.

The team recently participated in the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and the Moree Festival of Health, using hands-on activities to engage visitors. At Ekka, banana growers volunteered at the stand, meeting consumers and explaining production practices. They distributed samples and shared information on where bananas are grown and how they reach consumers.

At the Moree Festival of Health, the focus was on nutrition, wellbeing, and community participation. A sampling team distributed bananas to attendees, supported by banana-branded bins and clothing. Bananas were promoted as part of discussions on nutrition and healthy eating. The event also featured Healthy Harold as a guest.

According to Hort Innovation, the presence of growers at these events added to the interaction by giving consumers direct access to stories from farm to plate.
