The Southeastern region of Brazil, particularly citrus areas in São Paulo, Paraná, and part of Minas Gerais, recorded rainfall during the first week of spring. While the precipitation supports the upcoming blossoming, strong winds caused fruit droppage in some orchards. According to Cepea, growers in Avaré (São Paulo) reported some of the most visible impacts.
The return of rainfall is considered essential for the 2026/27 blossoming to develop under normal conditions. In the previous cycle, a warm and dry winter delayed flowering. Rains only returned more consistently after October, which pushed back the current crop.
