The FreshPrice® method is an operational strategic intelligence solution dedicated to professionals (producers, wholesalers, central purchasing agencies, greengrocers, specialist retailers, importers/exporters) in the fruit and vegetable sector, enabling them to "stay one step ahead of the market," and it keeps evolving. Here is an update from its founder, Michaël Sanchez Escriva.
"The FreshPrice ® V.25 version has stabilized"
The FreshPrice method was created in January and officially launched in March 2025. "Version 1 of the method was created and tested from January to March. From March to August, I continued to develop it to arrive today at the stabilized Version 25, with formats that are easier to read and activate," explains Michaël Sanchez Escriva. "The method has also been adapted according to customer feedback and needs." Today, FreshPrice covers citrus fruit, pome fruit, stone fruit, autumn and winter vegetables, ratatouille vegetables, red fruit, potatoes and tubers, tropical fruit, and imports. "There is the 'mini alerts' format for quick signals, and the 'strategic alerts' for cross-referencing more indicators. The mini alerts are sent out daily as soon as an event or change occurs in a product. The strategic alerts, on the other hand, are a weekly e-mail version, by product and by terroir, concerning both upstream and downstream. As the product is linked to its production area, the statements cross-reference information from the field/production with their distribution markets."

The FreshPrice® method is based on 65 cross-referenced indicators divided into 8 major families: Production/origin, Logistics/flows, Distribution, Promotions, Economic/weather conditions, International factors, Quality/consumer perception, and finally Communication/institutional press.
"A new premium business offer to secure margins"
This customized version of FreshPrice also includes a new offer. "It is an offer aimed at teams and companies, allowing them to stay one step ahead of trends, as with the first offer, but it also allows them to secure their margins." The founder of this offer has chosen to restrict it. "As FreshPrice is deliberately based on a hybrid AI/human format, I have chosen to limit access to it in order to preserve its quality." With this new offer, alongside the mini alerts and strategic alerts, there is a weekly bulletin summarizing the week's essential information on a product, as well as a monthly campaign overview (launch or follow-up) to focus on M-1 and M+1, and finally, a 360° view of prices to situate a product from retail to wholesale and to production. "This new offer was developed for those who want a solution tailored to their structure, such as companies that want to equip themselves to go further."
FreshPrice goes international and expands into the organic segment
Among other notable developments, the FreshPrice method is adding another string to its bow. "One of the latest developments is the inclusion of organic segments in the readings, with the same usual high standards of course," explains Michaël Sanchez Escriva. It is a logical next step, given that the long-term aim is "to cover all sectors." But FreshPrice also wants to expand beyond its borders. After France, the method is gradually being extended to Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, and Luxembourg to "extend the method and bring the same type of service to players in these countries," according to its creator. The first country concerned is Italy, "to support producers and cooperatives who market to French retailers."
What are the potential benefits of FreshPrice?
"Each alert can help to avoid costly errors such as overstocking, shortages, and inconsistent promotion. An error of this type easily represents several margin points on a batch, sometimes thousands of euros. When you add up these micro-corrections over an entire campaign, margin points can be saved," explains Michael Sanchez Escriva, adding that "FreshPrice does not replace the buyer or seller, but rather provides additional operational support. The method does not create margin but helps not to lose it."
