Kuehne+Nagel has established its first independent office and warehouse in Hafnafjördur, Iceland. The facility is located at the harbour and staffed by 13 specialists providing services in sea and air logistics, as well as customs.
According to Helgi Ingólfsson, Cluster Manager for Sweden and Iceland, Iceland represents a market with growth potential. He noted that while the company has operated in Iceland for several decades, this marks the first fully independent operation.

Valdimar Óskarsson, Managing Director for Iceland, said the team will focus on sea and air logistics and customs services, with the aim of supporting both import and export activities.
Iceland's export industries have expanded in recent years, with tourism contributing to increased demand for imported general cargo. Fish farming has also developed, with production reaching 54,800 tonnes in 2024 and further growth projected.
In sea logistics, Kuehne+Nagel will provide services from Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands for both Less-than-Container-Load and Full-Container-Load shipments. On the export side, the emphasis will be on reefer containers to meet the requirements of the fish industry.
In air logistics, the company will offer connections to global markets through gateways in London, Amsterdam, and Liège, with a focus on exports of farmed fish.
