DP World Peru completes its first blueberry charter flight to the U.S.

DP World Peru announced that its business unit, DP World Logistics, in partnership with Fruitist, conducted the first charter flight of perishables to the United States. The operation involved shipping over 100 tons of blueberries to New York.

The Peruvian branch of the Dubai-based multinational logistics firm reported that the fruits from Olmos, Chiclayo, reached their destination in under 24 hours. "We at DP World Peru are proud that our logistics services enabled the blueberries to arrive in less than a day, decreasing transportation time," the company stated.

The company also emphasized that its cold chain "operates 24/7 in close coordination with airlines and with optimized processes at every stage. This ensures a higher quality product, delivered on time and with guaranteed phytosanitary procedures at the destination."

The flight departed from Lima Airport, heading to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The company noted that this shipment marks the start of a new service: "From DP World Logistics Peru, we seek to position ourselves as a new player in the perishable air charter business, offering efficiency, added value, and competitiveness for the Peruvian agricultural sector."
