WEC Lines has announced changes to its existing UK–Ireland–Spain service, which has been renamed NWC Spain. The service, which began on September 27, operates on a weekly basis and now includes additional calls at Antwerp, Montoir-de-Bretagne, and Gijón.

The revised rotation connects Antwerp, Le Havre, Montoir, Bilbao, Gijón, Liverpool, and Dublin. Two vessels, with capacities of 812 and 822 TEU, are deployed on a fixed-day schedule.
The new setup establishes a direct weekly sailing from Bilbao and Gijón to Liverpool and Dublin. Vessels depart from Bilbao on Fridays, arriving in Liverpool on Mondays and Dublin on Wednesdays. The service is positioned as an alternative to overland transport from Spain to the UK and Ireland.

Transit times from Antwerp and Montoir to Bilbao are seven and two days, respectively. These connections support further inland transport by rail to destinations including Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Zaragoza, and Agoncillo (La Rioja). On the UK side, rail links from Liverpool extend to Belfast, Mossend, and Greenock.
According to WEC Lines, the changes are aimed at aligning services more closely with market demand and providing additional transport options for shippers between Spain, the UK, and Ireland.
