Lineage opens cold storage in Hawke’s Bay

Lineage, Inc., a global temperature-controlled warehouse REIT, has opened a new cold storage facility in Hawke's Bay, expanding its presence in one of New Zealand's major food-producing regions.

The facility, located at 48 Johnston Way in the Whakatu Industrial Park, adds 5,500 pallet positions to the company's existing campus in the area. It has multi-temperature storage capabilities to serve a range of customer requirements and is built to international food safety standards. The site is intended primarily for use by ZIWI, a pet food company.

To mark the opening, Lineage held a customer event in Napier, attended by food producers, exporters, project partners, local government, hapū representatives, and the company's New Zealand team. A separate gathering was held on-site for employees working at the facility.

"This is an important step in our growth in New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region," said Brooke Miller, Lineage President for Asia Pacific. "Investing in infrastructure like this strengthens the resiliency of the supply chain and reinforces our long-term ability to support our customers and New Zealand's role as a global food exporter."

The Hawke's Bay expansion adds to the company's network of 26 facilities across New Zealand.
