The affected products include Garden of Eden Baby Spinach in 100g, 200g, and 500g packs with batch codes F2776 and F2786. Also recalled are Garden of Eden Mixed Baby Leaf in 100g and 500g packs with batch codes 0805B, 0805P, 0805R, and 0805Y.

Listeria monocytogenes infection can lead to mild flu-like symptoms or gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can develop into more severe complications. Pregnant women, babies, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable. The incubation period for the illness averages three weeks but can range between three and seventy days.

Retailers have been instructed to remove the affected products from shelves and to display recall notices. Wholesalers and distributors are required to contact their customers, recall the products, and ensure recall notices reach retail outlets. Caterers have been advised not to use the implicated batches. Consumers are urged not to eat the affected products.
