The recalled product, sold in 200 g packages with UPC 6 976532 310051 and no listed codes, has no brand name and was distributed by Jacky Trading International Inc. The CFIA stated that the recall was triggered by its own test results, and there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumers are advised not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled mushrooms. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased. Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled, but can still cause illness. Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk, and in severe cases, infection can result in death.
