With around 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries and a gross area of around 290,000 m², Anuga 2025 is the largest edition in its history. From October 4 to 8, Cologne will once again become the world capital of the food industry and the meeting place for over 140,000 trade visitors from almost 200 countries. With 94 percent of exhibitors coming from abroad, Anuga sets new standards in terms of internationality and industry significance.

The largest country participations come from Italy, Spain, China, Germany, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, and the USA. A total of 174 group participations from 78 countries will present their portfolios – the five largest pavilions from Istanbul, China, Italy, Spain, and the USA alone cover areas of up to 6,000 square meters. "Anuga is much more than a trade fair – it is a marketplace, a source of inspiration, and a pacemaker for the global food industry. The leading minds in the sector meet in Cologne to present innovations and discuss the trends of tomorrow. This makes the future of food visible – and at the same time negotiable," says Gerald Böse, Chairman of the Management Board of Koelnmesse GmbH.
With a revised hall structure, Anuga 2025 will also create a clearer overview and greater proximity between related segments. Segments that are closely related in terms of content will be moved closer together. The newly created Anuga Alternatives will be located in Hall 1 in the future, with a direct connection to the largest area of the trade fair, Anuga Fine Food, which traditionally spans several halls. At the same time, the Anuga Meat areas will now be grouped together in Halls 6, 7, and 9.
New trade fair and innovations
Innovations from around the world will once again take center stage. The new Anuga Alternatives trade fair will focus on plant-based and cell-cultured products. In addition, the Anuga Trend Zone stage with current market data, the Anuga Taste Innovation Show with the top innovations of Anuga 2025, and an area with over 100 start-ups from the Boulevard of Innovations form a hotspot for food trends and investments.
The event and congress program includes numerous highlights:
- Halal Forum in cooperation with the Islamic Chamber for Halal Services, under the title "Halal Food: A Global Gateway to Growth".
- Anuga Horizon Stage with panel discussions on best practices in artificial intelligence, circular economy, and sustainability
- International Frozen Food Conference (with IFFN and GCCA) and celebrations marking 70 years of frozen food in Germany.
- DEHOGA System Catering Forum with ideas for the out-of-home market.
Korea presents itself as partner country
A special highlight of Anuga 2025 is the partner country, Korea. Under the motto "Flavor meets Trends," more than 100 exhibitors will present one of the most dynamic food nations in the world.
Korea impresses with a unique combination of tradition and innovation:
- Traditional cuisine with fermented specialties such as kimchi, soy sauces, and gochujang which have long been setting global food trends.
- Modern food tech solutions in the areas of alternative proteins, smart farming, and digital supply chains.
- A strong export economy that makes Korea a driving force in the global food industry.
The partner country program also includes cultural events, cooking shows, and tastings, which will make a visit to the trade fair a special experience for trade visitors. The presentation will be complemented by delegations from politics and business, underscoring Korea's international significance as an innovation and trading partner. "With Korea as our partner country, we are gaining a food nation that combines tradition and high-tech like no other. This presentation will not only offer enjoyment, but also inspiration for the entire sector," explains Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH.
Anuga – A global economic power
In addition to industry decision-makers, high-ranking political guests are also expected, including the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Alois Rainer, as well as representatives of the Korean government, including the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Miryung Song. Ambassadors from the USA, Brazil, Italy, and Greece, among others, have also announced their attendance.
In addition, the Anuga network is growing worldwide: with nine satellite events in Brazil, China, India, Japan, Thailand, and now Italy and Spain, as well as Anuga in Cologne, the portfolio comprises around 16,000 exhibitors and 400,000 trade visitors.
Organizational note
This year, we have the unique event that the Cologne Marathon will take place on October 5 alongside Anuga. This brings together two major events in Cologne that inspire a huge number of people and show the city at its most vibrant. It is therefore advisable to arrive early, use public transport, and check the Anuga website regularly for updates.
