From Monday, September 22, to Friday, September 26, KWS Vegetables will open its doors in Andijk, the Netherlands, for PopFest '25. The week-long event will focus on open field crops, including spinach, beans, red beet, and Swiss chard, bringing together industry professionals from different parts of the vegetable supply chain.

According to René van Meijel, Global Customer Team Lead at KWS Vegetables, PopFest will combine large-scale crop demonstrations with technical sessions. The spinach demo field will be a central feature, alongside discussions on agronomy and value chain developments.
Knowledge sessions
This year's program includes a series of short sessions under the theme "Inspiration Station," aimed at addressing key questions for growers, processors, and retailers. Experts from the industry will share insights across several crops:

Tuesday, September 23 – All crops
Questions will focus on resistance breeding in spinach, beans, and beets, and on soil management as a way to secure production.
Wednesday, September 24 – Beans and spinach
Discussions will cover shelf life in green beans, the role of beans in convenience foods, and opportunities to expand spinach consumption.

Thursday, September 25 – Red beet
Sessions will look at market positioning for red beet and emerging production challenges.
Location and attendance
The PopFest Open Days will be held at the company's R&D station in Andijk and will be open to customers and partners by appointment through their KWS Vegetables account manager.

Career event
On Saturday, September 27, KWS Vegetables will also host a Career Breakfast at the same location in Andijk. The event, scheduled from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, will give interested participants an opportunity to learn more about the company and available career opportunities.
