The Netherlands, September 23-25

Thirteen crops and six new varieties presented at Sakata Field Days

During the Field Days in the Netherlands 2025, scheduled for 23–25 September at Tolweg 3 in Zwaagdijk-Oost, Sakata will present six new vegetable varieties, alongside more than100 top performing varieties spanning 13 crops. All crops are adapted to Northern European growing conditions. The event will also include a hydroponic demonstration and an onion display.

The six new varieties meet essential agronomic needs for growers, such as resistanceto diseases and bolting, strong holding ability, high yield, uniformity, suitability for processing, extended shelf life and flavour. Among them are Cabella F1*, a versatile cabbage suited to both fresh consumption and processing; Nebula F1*, a beet distinguished by its excellent colour and quality, developed for the fresh market; and Cynder F1*, a large Halloween pumpkin distinguished by its uniform size and rich colour.

Another notable development for the leading broccoli breeder is the launch of a new broccoli variety featuring strong vigour and a high head position, making it well-suited to Northern European conditions: Nemesis F1*.
