Kazakhstan to launch frozen French fries plant in Almaty region by 2026

A frozen potato processing plant is planned to start operations in Qonaev, Almaty region, by the end of 2026, according to local authorities. The facility will cover 18 hectares and is expected to reach a production capacity of up to 30,000 tonnes of French fries per month.

In the first year of operation, raw materials will be imported from Iran. Later, potatoes will be sourced from local farmers, the regional administration confirmed.

The project includes the creation of around 800 jobs.
