InnoVent pallet wrap reduces waste in produce logistics

Tama Group has developed InnoVent®, a patented ventilating pallet wrap designed as an alternative to traditional corner boards and strapping. The wrap aims to reduce packaging waste while maintaining pallet stability and allowing ventilation, which is particularly important for fresh produce.

According to tests carried out by accredited laboratories, InnoVent uses flex and memory to secure pallets, providing a consistent hold throughout transportation. Unlike strapping and corner boards, which fix the pallet at limited points, the wrap covers the pallet entirely. This, the company reports, ensures stability during handling and transit.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) testing indicates that the material requires substantially less input than conventional methods, with results showing up to 90% lower carbon footprint compared to traditional solutions. Independent evaluations also confirmed that InnoVent maintained airflow while delivering pallet stability for commodities such as tomatoes, avocados, citrus, and apples.

Tama Group has introduced InnoVent across multiple markets, reporting that the product has already been used to wrap and ship large volumes of pallets worldwide. The development forms part of the company's ongoing work in agricultural packaging innovation, focusing on efficiency, ventilation, and reduced environmental impact.
