Peru will officially participate in the Shanghai International Fruit Expo 2025

The Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PromPeru) has confirmed that the country will participate in an official capacity for the first time at the Shanghai International Fruit Expo 2025, scheduled to take place from August 27 to 29 in China. The event is considered one of the key meetings for the fresh produce production and marketing sectors in that market.

China has become a major destination for food imports, where fresh produce from abroad is now a regular part of household shopping. In this context, the Shanghai fair has established itself as a key platform for fruit and vegetable producers and exporters.

Peru's participation, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) through PromPerú, aims to strengthen the country's image as a reliable supplier of high-quality, diverse, and sustainable fresh and frozen products. The national offer aligns with Chinese consumers' increasing preference for healthy and nutritious food.

Peru is currently among the top 12 global suppliers of agri-food products and has experienced steady growth in its exports. The Chinese market presents Peru with a significant opportunity to boost shipments of grapes, blueberries, mangoes, organic bananas, avocados, tangerines, asparagus, and other products.

PromPeru's Commercial Office in Shanghai, which regularly conducts promotional activities to enhance Peruvian agribusiness in the most competitive markets worldwide, will coordinate Peru's participation in the fair.
